I'll try to explain the following situation in my weird german english:
You got a repeating melody and want it to sound louder/have different effects on it in portions of your track where less other instruments are playing (or maybe sidechain it when the other instruments kick in). What is your way to go for this? Do you automate the volume/effects? Do you have smarter solutions?
I always clone the whole channel plus the pattern and assign it to another mixer channel to have full control of the volume while mixing AND to have the option to put different effects on it later on if I like to. Furthermore I do hate it when I got more than one automation clip at once for the same instrument (volume/cutoff/panning a.s.o.).
My way always results in a total mess of way to many channels and I don't think that's the "right" handling.
I'm really looking forward for you answers and would like to thank you in advance...
