Super Noob question!!! please help. PLUG IN PROBLEM

Hey guys, just got a copy of FL 7 and im super anxious to get the ball rolling. I've been shredding on reason for years and years, and recently lost a live drummer. The only reason i got this program was to run a VST plug-in called Addictive drums. I figured out how to load the plug in into the mixer, and I can get sound out of the mixer, but if i want to just import straight beats form the plug in (click drag and drop) i dont get any sound after i do so. Is there a simple way of hearing what ive created even if its just simple midi loops form the plug in?
