Say I load a commercial track into FL. The sound plays just fine since it's simply an audio file and it doesn't go pass 0dBFS.
So why does it start to clip the master channel when I low cut with any EQ (even though the average volume is decreased)?
Also, I remember reading that channel volumes were set at 78% because they didn't want audio to be too loud when loaded. But is there more significance to this value? Because when I boost even slightly to say 80%, the track will clip the master channel, so I was thinking, does the 78% represent the actual track volume and anything over that is really just volume gain, despite it saying 78% is equivalent to -5.2dB?
