Commercial use of VSTi and Plugins

Hello guys,

I recently went to a workshop with a well-known composer.
He told us to take care which plugins we can use freely.

For stuff like Vienna Symphonic Library and Komplete I am pretty sure that everything in there can be used freely, even for commercial projects (although I never read it somewhere I must admit).
What about FL stuff like Sytrus, Harmor and FPC? Where do I get information if those can be used and altered freely?
