Saving Portions of flp to wav

I have an elaborately arranged piece that I want to mix down section by section to separate wave files.
What's the easiest or best way to do this?
Should I make each section its own flp and then mix and save to wave?
Can I tell Edison to record only a certain number of bars of an flp and then stop?
How can I make Edison record exactly 16 bars and stop so I can replace the midi data with the recorded wave?
This is probably very elementary for many of you, but if you can give some tips from experience, I will greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Jim
