How disappointing are USB audio interfaces?

I recently purchased another computer to replace the big ass machine I am using now to run FLS. The PC I purchased is faster, will have more memory, it's smaller than the one im using now, and it was cheap as dirt. The damn thing doesnt have firewire! How stupid of me! It's a small form factor, so it only has 2 PCU slots that are currently being used by two video cards to run the 4 displays I have. My question is,... if I bought a USB audio interface, how disappointed would I be? I never really used FLS a lot. I am not a hardcore user, but I still like to use FLS when I have the time. How many of you use a USB interface and are OK with it? Thanks.
