I am a little bit of a newbie setting up midi stuff so please forgive me. I did find the same question asked in 2011 by nandy but no one answered it authoritatively and I haven't found any way of making it work. I'm using FL Studio 12
The Roland TD-20 is all connected. Midi is coming through and getting sent back properly. I've duplicitously hooked up all the audio outs as well to capture the TD20s sounds.
The problem is the hihat supposedly sends out CC events. in my piano roll, both open and mostly closed all arrive as A#3 notes. REALLY closed hihat seems to be D2.
so am I just supposed to find an A#3 drum kit with a whole bunch of hihat sounds for the whole spectrum? .. cuz regardless, if i send the same midi data back to the roland, i only get open hihat.. ie the variability is gone.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
How do you make FL 12 recognize CC4 messages from a ROLAND TD-20's hihat?
