There are two timing options for sampling.Spivkurl wrote:I guess I will ask more directly... How will this addition handle the "release" of sampled notes? This is entirely related to the "loop type" which will be selected, and should be selectable from the dialog.
With the current information I have, I am assuming that all release information is disregarded. I don't think that this will give a reliable way of "freezing" an instrument for continued use, especially if effects are involved. Perhaps it is just me though?
You can sample for a set amount of time, and it will sample for that time, no more, no less regardless of whether a note is active. This is fixed mode. Threshold mode will sample for no more than the set duration, unless FL stops playing (no active voices) and the current output is silent - i.e, all voices have finished playing and all effects have become silent.
The second parameter is not hold time - after this time has elapsed, the note will be released.
For looping, you can enable or disable looping, and set the loop start point. Loop tuning can be enabled if desired using the same mechanism as found in Edison - this will apply crossfading and blending, and adjust the loop start accordingly.
Currently the loop type is set to sustain looping, but that can be altered inside DW if you like, either on a sample-by-sample basis or as batch affecting the whole program. If there's enough demand, I'll add a loop type selector.
Effects can be enabled or disabled on the Master insert and the channel insert.
All timings can be specified in seconds, beats and bars.
Hope that helps.
