Midi Out Issues with External Synth

I recently got one of those little Modal Craftsynth's and am having trouble routing it to FL Studio with Midi Out in the channel rack. I've got the same port in the output and midi out plugin but can't seem to get anything out of it. I've got the synth connected via USBminib to Midi if that matters at all. Anyone have any experiences like this that they know the fix for or any suggestions??
