my worst nightmare!

TRANSIENTS! Earpiercing harmonics i cant get to sound smooth. When i listen to professional tracks if there is a bell sound for instance it sounds clear but the transient is not harsh. When i try to do that i get these metallic harsh transients. How do i get them smooth and ear pleasing not ear destructing.

Can anybody help me with this ? I would be the happiest man on this planet if someone could reveal to me the method behind it.
