"Merge automation clips" will it ever happen, imageline?

Just wondering. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, I'm just curious. I googled it and see posts going all the way back to 2009 requesting this feature. It would be incredibly useful for cleaning up projects. (Clips that have been "made unique" and then tweaked, resulting in multiple clips that control only one parameter.)
Is it not possible programming wise? Or is it in development?
