There's a bug with the diffusion. The level control works fine, but the spread control doesn't appear to do anything.

Messed around with the Impulse click from convolver, and was able to verify that the spread control seems to have no effect on the sound at all. The manual says it adjusts the timing of the added delays, but it didn't seem to work at all.
