Exporting Waw-files for Mastering - Distorted Sound ?

I exported Waw-files from FL12 and opened those Waw-files in the empty project, I noticed that those Waw-files sound a bit "distorted" comparing to mp3-file which I exported earlier.
Is it typical that Waw-files (with higher audio quality) sound a bit louder / distorted when comparing to mp3-file (320kbps) ?
