Hi all,
In an effort to better my final production skills, I'm trying to get into the common industry practice of mix/mastering stems (instead of trying to do everything in the main flp) - but, I've run into a problem with my workflow...
Attached is my Mixer, and notice that a Snare track and a Hi Hat track both go to a common track that I use for filter-sweeping the two. I want to export separate stems of Snares and Hi Hats, but they both need to go thru the Filter mixer track to get filtered...
It seems wrong to have duplicate filters/automation in each the Snare track and Hi Hat track, so what am I supposed to do? Preferably, I'd like to avoid having to solo each mixer track (with the Filter track enabled) and manually exported each stem wav... that'd be a huge pain for more complex projects...
Any tips?
