I was writing a song and stopped and thought, "what...... again?!"

What songwriting/production things do you use/overuse so much that they become a trademark verging on a cliche of your style?

I've got loads, but I'll start the bidding with;

Lofi to hifi (some might say lofi to slightly less lofi..) - massive overuse of telephone eqs/distortion etc, particularly on vocals and drums
Gap in song - can't think of a bridging chord or too lazy to program a drum fill, let's have a gap
Tremelo on guitars - slightly crap playing? Lob some tremelo on it, never fails.
