FL Studio Stretching Audio Sample During Global Tempo Change

Hi Everyone! This is my first post. I have searched for ages and can't find the answer to this problem.

I am recording bass guitar directly into FL studio over the entire song length. The chorus changes tempo from 106 Bpm to 103 Bpm for 12 bars because I made an automation clip from the global tempo. On the final bar it fades back up to 106 Bpm to go into the verse. I record the bass through Arm Disk Recording and the audio file is all in time when I play it during the tempo changes (I can see it is in time from the wave forms).

My problem is that FL Studio stretches the audio file after the chorus and into the verse and puts it completely out of time.

Is there a way to just disable this feature at all?
