How do I use the Drum kit sequencers?

Hi all,

I'm new to fl studio and am just learning the ins and outs. What can I say this is an amazing product. I've had it for a month and every session I feel like I uncover a new trick or what feels like a secret component. It's like this awesome video game where just keep unlocking cool new stuff.

Anyways, I'm really sorry but I can't figure out how to use the orange buttons to program a drum pattern idea of the HQ Rock kit. I can use the pre-sets (god, there are so many it's incredible) and the piano roll, but how do I use the orange buttons that come up when you open up the new channel? I can see the button for create, but I can't get it to save a pattern?

I must not know the name of this method (is it sequencing or drum patterning?) as I can't find any youtube videos on it.

Any help greatly appreciated.
