Type in Value for Main Pitch

How would I go about finding the value that I would like to set for the main pitch? I'm not sure what or how I should be calculating (semitones?) to come up with this value. This might seem like a dumb question, but I'm asking anyway. If anyone is able to help me with this, I'd appreciate it greatly. Thank you.
