Can somebody clarify VST3, 64-bit and what this means for FL Studio.

I have a 32-bit vista OS. When go VST3, will you need a 64-bit OS and consequently a 64-bit DAW?

What benefit does VST3 offer, and how quickly do these merges occur? I'm sure companies will charge for updated versions of their plugins? Will ALL plugins have to be VST3 format if FL Studio goes VST3?

So many uncertainties. I hate new technology but love it at the same time!
