Automation clip editor ?

Can I send an automation-clip back into an automation_clip-editor (like the event edito for patterns ) ?

Editing in-place in the play-list is a little awkward ( handy, but lacking features ). Zoom is limited and many tools aren't available. I'm currently recording into a pattern which I then need to keep as a template, clone, modify and then create new clips. Hopefully, I'm just missing something already in the HELP (which is great ). Sending a clip via an menu/edit option to something like a Sytrus env editor would be great.
