Sync-ing Guitar and vocal tracks

Hey, i'm helping a friend put together an acoustic sampler. i'm recording the guitar and vocals using an H2 recorder and then adding the wave files/tracks together in the playlist. i may be approaching it wrong but i use the playlist to trigger the wave files to start at a given time in order to add the vocals to the acoustic guitar. instead of waiting for the right time to trigger the vocals is there any way to add the wave files to the playlist as a wave file (ie seeing the file in wave form (like in Edison) rather than a piano roll 'dot') and thus making it easier to sync up the guitar and vocals? (it take a while to have to wait for the guitar part to arrive where the vocal should begin...)

i'm unsure if i explained it correctly, but essentially what is the easiest way to put together (already recorded - in wave form) parts of a song? ie guitar and vocal

is there anyway to call up a wave track on the playlist and see it in wave form (like you would see on Edison)?

Thanks!!

any help or suggestions are appreciated...

...john
