If so, it's probably the soundcard's latency. The plugin's own threading will be very unefficient if you have a latency of like 1 or 2 ms. 10ms would be best.

Should there be any difference in performance between XP and 7?
not here (Vista & XP)
Harmelss is fine...it was a Limiter plug-in that I like to use at the end of the chain (to protect my ears). When I disabled that, I saw the same performance in both OSs (yes, same hardware).
