Delphi roadmap / VST and 64bit

http://dn.codegear.com/article/36620

It talks about the Commodore release which will include 64bit support (funny name).....I also have read that the roadmap has been changing too.

According to this one, next year we will have Delphi64.....well...gol will have it.

Quote: You cannot run 32 bit plugins in a 64 bit host, on any platform (at least not without a grotesque hack to hide the fact that every variable that holds an address is a different size).

If you want VST, you need to run a 32 bit OS, or at least 32 bit hosts because all win32/x86 plugins are compiled for 32 bit hosts.

That's quite a huge point, I wonder how many VSTs are capable to run in FL64bit

Theoretically talking, would be possible to make FL64bit so it can load more stuff up to the RAM (let's say 4 or 8gb) but keep the overall engine in 32bit? I mean, the audio engine doesn't necessarily needs to be 64bit, only the memory addressing. If so, that possibly means FL64 is not that hard to implement after all, nor a complete rewrite.
