Basic Mixing Techniques

Hello my Fellow FL Studio.I NEED a few Technique Tips on Mixing such as,placing sounds in the foreground and the background.Low Shelf,Peaking, and High Shelf settings,and possibly some standard db levels "If I'm not asking for too much"?
I only produce Rap Beats so this will help me create a better sound Quality on the simple side of Modern Day Rap.
