This test makes no sense.. Like Scott was trying to say, everyone is testing with different drivers, different buffer settings etc.. Clearly, it's possible to add many more plugins at 2048 vs 32. I don't see the point in adding 50+ generators at 2048.. wouldn't it be much easier to just say that everyone should run the test at a low buffer setting, say 256 ?
Also, in the test everything is routed to the master, and unless my understanding of how FL studio is processing information is totally wrong, that doesn't favor multi core cpu's much. So it basically boils down to pure clock speed processing which again means that a lesser CPU can come out better than one with more cores, as more cores usually means more heat = less clock speed which is then compensated for by spreading work over many cores instead, which it won't be able to do effectively in this test.
Correct me if I'm wrong..
