Shortcut Knobs

Hi

I remember either reading about this or seeing a video tutorial including this, but I have forgotten how and what this stuff is called. Basically, you could make a knob panel inside FL Studio and connect knobs from plugins, channel settings or from wherever you wanted. Anyone know what I mean?
