So today I noticed something fishy with my (Win 7) laptop, that the process dllhost.exe was eating up a quarter of my CPU continually, even on a fresh reboot (it's a quad-core i3). I was lucky enough to find a forum thread on another website via Google that seemed to more isolate the issue being related to having media files (including wav files) on the Desktop, and Windows somehow trying to access them constantly (possibly to create previews or whatever) and failing. I often end up plopping wav files from FL and such onto my desktop and this does indeed seem to be the problem somehow. It was mentioned that moving the files to other folders should fix the issue, but I've found with a couple of the wav files (which I assume to be the problem files in question), trying to move them causes windows explorer to hang and the task is never completed. Other wav files were moved successfully.
It was actually mentioned by a user of that forum that this keeps happening to him every time he renders something from FL Studio.
The thread mentioned is here (note there are 2 pages): http://www.sevenforums.com/general-disc ... 0-cpu.html
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Anyone have some more insight to share on this?
