if a listener can't hear the distortion would you leave it?

hello again. just a curious question. i make very loud, bass heavy music and sometimes still find myself having trouble with cymbal rides and sleigh bells when they strike at the same time as the sub kick or bass lead. EQing doesn't work so i'm left with reducing the gain which isn't good b/c the ride gets lost in the mix. BUT if all the loud parts play together the distortion gets masked leaving the ride sounding crisp and noticeable. so back to my question.

if the listener can't detect distortion or any other recording debacles would you leave it in? do you leave it in?

1st half is just bass and sleigh bells. 2nd is full mix.
