Need help to program Channel Selection

I use FL Studio to create backing tracks for my leads. I prefer to use the Typing Keyboard over MIDI controllers for playing instruments.

That said, the only way I see to Select an Instrument Channel is with the Up/Down arrow keys (if the Channel Window is active') or by using the mouse to click on a specific Instrument.

Does anyone see a way to -automate- or -program- Channel Selection (maybe assign Function or Number keyboard-keys to select specific Channels within a project)?
