Tempos and Cues in FL Studio

Does anyone else use FL Studio for film/movie/game scoring? What techniques do you use to map tempos and cues to cinematics and videos? I've been having some problems trying to write pieces for cutscenes whereby the tempo changes (or is sometimes absent and the piece is free-styling). I'd love to have some functionality or some method of easily setting up the tempo/bars to hit specific points in a track to match what's going on on-screen. Anyone have any tips of tricks for achieving this?

I wonder if this is something that could be added to the FL studio in the future? A method of stretching patterns in the playlist similar to samples would be ideal (or a method of changing the playback time, like with automation clips).
