Browser - Customizing FL's Browser

Doncha just h8 the fact that there's all these useless folders in FL's browser? Doncha just wana delete them? Wouldn't it be kool if you could just have your own useful folders there? If that's the case please read on..

Customizing FL's Browser
. Browse to FL's patches directory, eg something like:
C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 7\Data\Patches
. Now make hidden files viewable by going to the folder menu option > Tools > Folder Options... > View tab > under Hidden files and folders click > Show hidden files and folders
. Loads of .nfo files should appear, some of these nfos are causing the useless folders to appear in FLS's browser > so we're going to edit them > back them up to a separate directory if you feel you may need them again
. Right-click an NFO file (say you want to get rid of the Automation folder in the browser > click Automation.nfo) > Open With > browse to notepad AND > tick Always use the selected program to open this kind of file (you can untick it after u've eddited the NFO's but I see no reason not 2 leave it this way + init)
. What you'll see by default is this:-
Tip=Drop these on event editors...

' highlight this subdir
ColIndex=3

. To make it so it's not visible in FL's browser, just change it so it looks like this:-
Tip=Drop these on event editors...
Visible=False
' highlight this subdir
ColIndex=3

. As you can see: Visible=False is the main bit of info we're adding to the file. Once you've done that save the file
. Add this Visible=False line for all the folders that u don't want in the browser
. Special Note 1: Gol has made an .nfo file called "Projects bones.nfo" > this should be Project bones.nfo (no "s" at the end of "Project") so change the name, otherwise it will remain in the browser
. Special Note 2: If you don't want the "Projects" folder in your browser you will have to find the relevent nfo file, which isn't in the Patches folder instead browse to the Data folder, eg:-
C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 7\Data
. Edit the Projects.nfo (again make sure you've turned hidden folder on in Windows folder options)
. To create you're own viewable folders in FL's Browser > start FLStudio > Options > File Settings > browse to where you're folders are
. Now that you are organized the way you want > make some really kool music!

Hope this helps + customary init ;)
