FL Studio Shortcuts via MIDI?

Is it possible to transmit "qwerty" or ASCII messages via a MIDI controller?? For example - I want to assign a button on my midi controller to function in FL Studio as an "undo" button. The only way I know how to "undo" is using "cntrl+Z" on my qwerty keyboard or actually clicking it with a mouse under the edit tab. I've looked all over the web and tried to figure this out on my own - but I'm getting frustrated and can't find the answer. Any suggestions?
