Aliasing?

OK I've read various threads and the help on the subject of aliasing, and the usual recommendation is to crank up oversampling which certainly helps but does not completely eliminate the problem. My Yamaha Reface DX also suffers from aliasing (far worse than Sytrus) when I set modulation depth too high, so I'm wondering if this is particular to FM synthesis. Aliasing can sound cool some times but it really kills the vibe when you just want the pitch to keep going up and those dissonant frequencies start wrapping around the top...

I wonder if it would be possible to somehow suppress (discard) the frequencies that would otherwise "go over" so they don't have a chance to even wrap around? Some sort of spectral truncation.
