How to (auto)remap a multi-velocity drumkit?

Hi,

I have a huge drumkit based on wave files. One file is one drum at a specific velocity. So the file name pattern is "[drumname]_[velocitylevel].wav"

Code: Select all

snare_03.wav
snare_04.wav
...
snare_20.wav

bassdrum_05.wav
bassdrum_06.wav
...
bassdrum_20.wav
You get the idea. These are about 350 files.

If I load all samples, then use "remap as drumkit", I get snare_03.wav and snare_04.wav mapped at different keys/root notes (and because there are 350 fles, they even overlap) , but it should be at the same key/root note with different velocity. "Automap" doesn't do anything and from the help it just says the information for automap should be enclosed in the wave file but not HOW. Is it just renaming the file with some magical pattern (that I don't know) or does it need some binary data within the wave file? I even tried manually modifying the DW preset I created but since its binary, I can't do anything with regex e.g....

So, the simple question is: How do I get all 350 files correctly mapped (inluding velcity ranges) using direct wave without doing it manually by dragging 350 tiny rectangles in the DW UI ;) ?

Thanks!
