DIRECT WAVE VST Sampling Issue

When I sample a VST, Direct Wave is cutting my note length. As of now, I have the low key=24 and hi key 96. What should these be set to? I have tried changing the key-step to 1 just to sample each note individually, but it's still not working. It appears to be a velocity split issue. If I lower the velocity of some of the notes that are cut off, it will play thru, as if all of the velocity layers are not caught in the sampling of the vst when direct wave samples the vst. I have: velocity split set to the max of 16, NUM PROGRAMS=128, Length at a max of 16, Max release at max of 16. Can someone help me out here? Also, I have notices that the sampled vst sounds very thin in Direct Wave compared to the vst plugin that it samples.

Thanks in advance for any help with this :)
