loading multi samples

Hi all. I'm a total novice at direct wave or any vst sampler for that matter. I have lots of multi sample libraries in WAV format. They include huge amounts of different notes from the same instrument. How can i load up these samples so they are on the correct keys on the sampler. I have loaded one sound in but obviously it sounds wierd when played on any other key than the route key. Any advice on loading these multi's would be greatly appreciated.
