samples sped up after dragging

Hello, my first post and only a couple weeks into using this, but i have one problem i cant seem to figure out. When I drag samples (mostly guitar note/chords) from directwave, when I place them in a song, the note is sped up from the actual sound. Sometimes I can go in and manually change the timeto slow it down so an a note sounds like it's supposed to, but sometimes I can't and it's a real pain. Don't seem to notice with fx and other instruments outside directwave, but no clue. Can someone please help? Thanks
