Control String Articulation?

So I have an awesome new set of orchestral samples for DirectWave. Here's what I would like to do:

-Combine different articulation sets, Staccato, Pizzicato, and normal in one instrument.
-Choose between each articulation method on a note-by-note basis in the Piano Roll.

In this way, I could have my first violins play powerfully in big sections, then switch to alternating Pizzicato/Staccato/Normal articulations in softer spots.

Any idea how to do this? I know they can use different samples based on volume. I would like to change between articulations based on another knob.
