MultiTimbral or Pitch bending, but not both?

I was running Directwave natively and it allowed pitch shifting. But whenever I would try multitimbral mode, it wouldn't work. The colors didn't change sample sets.

So now I'm running Directwave in VSTi mode, and it allows multitimbral instruments. (I prefer this for strings, where I have sustain, staccato, pizzicato and various solo sets.) However, when running it as a VST, I can't do pitch shifting.

Is there any way to enable pitch shifting when Directwave is running as a VST?

Or

Is there any way to use multi-timbral mode when running directwave natively?
