Link MAudio Axiom drum pads to FPC permanently

Hey all-

Saw in the recent FL Studio Guru vid about overriding generic links to create permanent links between VST plugins and my midi controller. But it seems as though this only works for knobs. Does anyone know a way to link Maudio Axiom drum pads to the FPC plugin pads. I can link to knobs within FPC permanently but not the pads. Forgive my ignorance!
