Video paused and will not advance

Hello,
Every function of zgame works fine on my system except for the video presets (video wall, video warp). I tried to use a variety of different wmv files as input, but all have the same result - the video is paused on the first frame. I have the most current version of zgame.
I've tried searching the forums here and at zgame, and I haven't been able to find any other threads with this issue.
Any idea what might be the problem?
