Managing the default note size in piano roll

I sometimes get myself into a situation where the default block size for in the piano roll gets just a little bit off of what I'd like (accidentally touch a note that's not quite on the step, or perhaps a live note and now each new note is "off" size by the same amount).

What's the best way to get the default block size back to a step, or half step?

Just changing the snap doesn't change the default block size, it just restricts resizing to the specified increment. Currently I set my snap to none and tweak the note, but this seems imprecise. I guess I could quantize, but that seems roundabout. Is there another option I'm missing?
