Launchpad mini and performance mode

Hey everybody I have a few questions about the launchpad mini in performance mode. I was wondering if there was any way to link the fpc pad area here to launch clips in the playlist? So far in one of my projects I noticed that the vertical line of pads on the left hand side of the fpc pad are linked to certain clips in the performance playlist automatically but I was wondering if there was any way to control what clips they launched and any way to utilize the rest of the fpc pad area to do the same. With how it is by default right now with my project as is I was able to move things around and get it to launch a rise FX and the beginning of a bass drum loop while linking the sliders to the volume and cutoff perimeters of my bass and synth loops which by itself opened up alot of fun possibilities. If I could Utilize the rest of those pads the same way this could get really interesting. The other thing i haven't been able to figure out is how to play one of my instruments or VST's while the song is playing in performance mode. They all seem to be muted or something whenever the song is playing. Any help in this is greatly appreciated!
