2 In and Out Midi channels are created (TB-3 & TB-3 CTRL) when the USB driver is installed and the TB-3 connected, but how do you use these?
I can see Midi signals in FL and recording seems to work, but there is no sound. The USB cable should do Midi and Sound.
Or would it be better to use only Midi and Sound cables and not USB in FL 11?
The Roland instructions say this:
Code: Select all
Before you begin
Input/output device settings for your application
In order to obtain optimal performance from your applications, specify the input/output device for your applications as described below. (For details on making these settings, refer to the owner's manual for your application.)
* Ensure that the TB-3 and the application are set to the same sampling frequency. If the sampling frequency settings do not match, error messages may be displayed and recording/playback errors may occur.
* If you are unable to select the TB-3 device, a problem may have occurred. Refer to "Troubleshooting."
Audio input/output device
Of the total audio input/output channels provided by the TB-3, there are 2 INs and 2 OUTs
[WAVE OUT Devices]
OUT (TB-3)
* If you've specified a different name in the "Sound" settings of the Control Panel, the name you specified will be displayed.
[WAVE IN Devices]
IN (TB-3)
* If you've specified a different name in the "Sound" settings of the Control Panel, the name you specified will be displayed.
[ASIO device]
When using the TB-3 with an ASIO-compatible application, select "TB-3" as the ASIO setting for your application.
* To prevent an audio feedback loop or double monitoring, make settings on your application to turn monitoring off.
* The TB-3 main unit does not support ASIO Direct Monitor, but if you use Cubase, by enabling Direct Monitoring in the Cubase setting, you can prevent loop oscillation of audio equipment and duplicate monitoring.
* When using the TB-3 with ASIO, we recommend that you set your application so that it does not use the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. (In order to decrease the load, and for convenience when changing Audio Buffer Size of the driver.)
MIDI input/output device
* In the Windows Media Player, the MIDI input/output device of TB-3 cannot be used.
Please select the following device in your MIDI compatible application.
[MIDI OUT devices]
TB-3
TB-3 CTRL
[MIDI IN devices]
TB-3
TB-3 CTRL
Setting the playback/recording device in Windows
