Midi Keyboard

I just got a keyboard that has a midi input so I want to hook it up to fl studio and go at it, but I don't have the cord to connect it yet. Can I just buy a cord that connects directly from the keyboard to the computer via usb and still have all of the midi capabilities and still be able to record audio with the keyboard?
