Midi installed, but wont work

I have a serious problem. It seems that my midi controller is not working properly with my fl studio, I have a Novation Launchkey 49. In the midi settings, its there and says its powered on but it doesn't play anything with FL studio. Could someone please help me with this. This has hindered me from doing so much.
