Help, Roland XV-5050 -- low volume & channel problem

Hey, can someone help me out with this problem I'm having with the Roland XV-5050.

I hooked it up and I can play the sounds through FL 8 but the recorded notes when I play it are low in volume. I have the Master Volume on the XV to Max and I have the Velocity notes in FL at Max, and I have the Volume knob on Max and I have the Volume fader in the Mixer on Max!

I shouldn't have to push all these buttons to their maximum just to get a decent level.

I have the audio hooked up through SPDIF into my Firebox.

The second problem is, let's say I want to use multiple sounds on my XV in one project, its suppose to have up to 16 channels, but for some reason, even if I'm on Port 1 (XV port) and put it on channel 2, there's no sound other than using channel 1. How do I fix this?
