I got an Alesis SR18 for Christmas, and so far everything is connected and working 100% with my setup. Now there's just one problem. I can send/draw MIDI notes in FL studio and play them back from the drum machine, (using the MIDI Out controller) but I can record MIDI patterns from the drum machine in FL Studio.
Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? I have a Cakewalk UM-1G MIDI cable. It shows MIDI OUT activity when playing notes in FL Studio that go to the drum machine, but no lights light up when playing the drum machine or drums sounds. Does this indicate that the drum machine is the cause of trouble here and not FL?
One thing that confuses me is the MIDI master sync. Should I sync my drum machine to FL Studio so it matches it's tempo changes and so on? Other than getting the MIDI from the drum machine, everything works great! I even got the audio from the machine working having it hooked up with my desktop mixer.
