ok, so i have a bunch of midi equipment.
and i have a bunch of midi inputs.
and fl studios sees them all
so thats really cool
now, say i want to have my mpc-500 triggering fpc
and i want my maudio keystation pro 88 to play oh i dunno poizone.
and then lets say i want my yamaha dtxtreme IIs to trigger ezdrummer dfh.
AND i want to play with the drummer live
now it seems to me that to set this up, the code already exists in fl studio for identifying a midi - input / device and giving it a "midi-device number" but so far as i can tell that only exists for OUTPUTS.
and it looks like theres ways to assign midi output "device channels" to fl studio channels... but thats ONLY for output.
now these things handle midi in and out just fine simultaneously as can be worked around by simply setting up a layer channel and giving these things maps that go to different "keys' and playing them all at once.
soooooo WHY is it... that i cant assign a midi device (or frankly 1 channel on any given device) to be locked to 1 VST.
or is there some work around that i am missing????
if there is, please let me know. because writing layers is a crazy, and buggy work around, and if any setting or bank shift causes fl studio to switch channels, everything goes to hell... which is a needless and pointless problem. this software is far too good to be buggy about something as necessary as midi routing.
please help
there should be a way to assign a specific midi channel to a fl studios channel
