korg kontrol pad - and other devices with xy controlers

i'm thinking about buying a korg kontrol pad for $80... and part of it is... i want the XY pad for things like harmor...

but i'm a bit apprehensive about how you link the pad to the controller i guess because i just dont know how it will work...

in harmor you cant link the actual xy pad to a midi signal.. you have to link them seperately with X and Y knobs ... i'm guessing there are methods for this tho ... do i have to program them in with cc numbers or... does the learn feature work right???
